development of Średnicowa railway line in Warsaw

Development of Średnicowa railway line in Warsaw includes the section between Warszawa Zachodnia and Warszawa Wschodnia stations. As per investor requirements we have proposed a way to modernize two stops: Warszawa Ochota and Warszawa Powiśle.

We propose to cover the Ochota station along its entire length, while creating a large city square above the railway space. In order to highlight the existing elements of historical architecture (such as the original railway pavilion or concrete pillars on platforms) we propose a subtle aesthetics for the newly designed elements: large glazing areas and modern materials such as architectural concrete and stainless steel.

In the case of the Powiśle station, the priority was to preserve and highlight historical high quality architectural elements, while at the same time adjusting the layout of the station to meet modern functional standards.  We proposed continuous roofing over entire length of both platforms, and added new lifts which will allow to access both platforms from the level of al. Jerozolimskie (entrance to the station building) as well as from the level of Powiśle (from Kruczkowskiego street).
