city stadium in Lublin

15,400-seater football stadium meets all the requirements for stadiums III category of UEFA. According to customer requirements the stadium was designed to accomodate cultural events as well as football matches. The large plot has allowed for a comfortable site arrangment with a priority put into providing efficient ticket control and easy access to seating.

The green recreational belt of the city of Lublin put the building into a position of a local landmark. We have aimed to give the building a certain visual lightness, despite its apparent volume, for this reason we have proposed a shape with curved facades, designed in a form of longitudinal strips surrounding the entire building. In order to accentuate the texture of the facade and reinforce the corners of the building, the strips are slightly inclined. The facade is made of metal panels with relatively large perforations; the deflection angle varies depending on the location of the panel. Grandstand canopies are formed of a multi-layer textile membrane stretched on a steel substructure.

The audience seating area has been designed in the shape of a rectangular basin with the sides placed parallel to the playfield. The reasonable scale of the stadium made it possible to achieve the optimal field visibility for almost 100% of the seats, which has been one of our priorities. Due to difficult soil conditions the building is founded on concrete piles. To achieve the required capacity of the soil, the entire site area had to be reinforced.
