stations of II metro line in Warsaw: Świętokrzyska, Nowy Świat – Uniwersytet

Stations of the II metro line in Warsaw: Świętokrzyska and Nowy Świat-Uniwersytet together with three ventilation shafts (V12, V13 and V15). Świętokrzyska station constitutes an interchange between I and II metro lines. It is also one of the largest stations on the II metro line, with an extensive program of commercial areas. Nowy Świat-Uniwersytet station is located on a very narrow plot between building lanes and surrounded by historic buildings.

The detailed design has been based on the conceptual design (surprisingly rich in architectural details) and building permit designs executed by others. Our designers aimed to integrate given aesthetic solutions (agreed with the client during previous stages of the project) into a coherent multibranch design, taking into account all the changes required by the long term investment process.

The project required multi-branch coordination (e.g. MEP or fire protection), not only with regard to both “our” stations, but also on the level of overall standardization for all buildings constituting the first section of II metro line, which have been designed simultaneously by several independent design teams.
